Mount Kinabalu, (4100m), also known as the “Chinese Widow” in Malaysian, is the highest peak in Southeast Asia. You start out in a sticky, hot rainforest full of orangutans at the bottom and summit at sunrise in finger-numbing cold.
Ditch the bland, seen-one-seen-em-all resorts for the mountain and check out the spectacular views of pristine Borneo rainforest before the palm oil plantations plow it under.
See it while you can.
