Ok maybe a little puffery but none the less true…9th overall with teams from Auckland, Christchurch and Australia competing!
Last Saturday saw the Icebreaker Dragon Boating Team hit the Wellington Harbour for the Wellington Dragon Boating Festival in front of a crowd of 5000. With picture perfect conditions and a lot of nervous energy, our team threw themselves at their very first practice race and took even themselves by surprise, winning convincingly. The team went on to finish fourth in the final with only 0.2 secs between them and first place so needless to say it was a photo finish.
Tess, 6 years old, shared this great picture with us of the event – please note the smiles on the victorious Icebreaker team, the sad faces on the competition and Mum cheering on the sideline.
